Green Era Sustainability Campus

Construction of a new 9 acre environmental sustainability campus and urban farm in the heart of Chicago’s South Side.  The project includes environmental remediation of a brownfield, an energy generation facility, greenhouses, a community garden with a fresh produce stand, and a visitor’s center with classrooms.  Green Era Sustainability Campus will help to reduce the amount of food waste in landfills, reduce the methane created by food waste, provide compost to urban farms, provide food to Food Deserts across Chicago, and create quality employment and educational opportunities for South Side residents.

Financing closed: $21.9 million in Federal NMTCs, $9.8 million in State NMTCs
