Green Era Sustainability Campus

Construction of a new 9 acre environmental sustainability campus and urban farm in the heart of Chicago’s South Side. The project includes environmental remediation of a brownfield, an energy generation facility, greenhouses, a community garden with a fresh produce stand, and a visitor’s center with classrooms. Green Era Sustainability Campus is reducing the amount of food waste in landfills and methane created by food waste, providing compost to urban farms and food to Chicago’s Food Deserts, and creating quality employment and educational opportunities for South Side residents.

Financing closed: $21.9 million in Federal NMTCs, $9.8 million in State NMTCs
